Patrick McAleer, EdD, is GMercyU’s Certification and Placement Specialist and an adjunct professor for its undergraduate Education programs. Prior to GMercyU, Dr. McAleer spent 33 years as a teacher and administrator in the Pitman (NJ) Public Schools, including 11 years as Superintendent of Schools.
As Certification and Placement Specialist, he serves as GMercyU’s officer/liaison to the Pennsylvania Department of Education regarding teacher certification. He is also the student teacher placement coordinator for GMercyU’s Master Teacher and MS in Special Education programs, and he teaches two undergraduate Education courses.
Dr. McAleer earned his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the University of Pennsylvania, his Post- Baccalaureate (Teacher Certification) from St. Joseph’s University, his Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Social Studies Education from Widener University, and his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership (School Administration) from Widener University.
Dr. McAleer holds teaching and administrative certifications in both PA and NJ.
